These are the terms for using carverpoint.com. They are not the contract for work we do for you. That is a separate document, you get a copy before you sign it, and it is at client-agreement.md.
1. Who runs this site

2. The prices on this page
Every price on this site is real and every one of them is on the page. Nothing is hidden behind a "contact us for pricing".
But a price on a page is not yet a deal. The deal is made when you buy through the Stripe checkout, or when we agree it on the phone and you get it in writing. Until one of those happens, either of us can walk away and nobody owes anybody anything.
Reviews and Social are bought on the phone, because both of them depend on facts about your business that a checkout page cannot ask for. That is on the page as well.
3. The demonstration sites
There are thirty six demonstration sites linked from /work. Read the source of any of them. That invitation is genuine and it is the point of them.
They are ours, not anybody else's. Every business name, price, review, opening hour and credential on a demonstration site is sample content. It describes a business that does not exist. Nothing on one of those pages is a statement about a real company, a real price or a real qualification, and none of it should be relied on as one.
If a demonstration site carries a name that resembles a real business, that is a coincidence of the naming, not a claim about them.
4. Ratings, reviews and counts
If this site or anything we build for you ever shows a rating or a review count from Google, it is fetched live from Google at the moment you look at it, it is not stored anywhere by us, and it is Google's number and not ours.
We do not keep a copy of anybody's rating, we do not average anything, and we do not publish a review count as a claim of our own. There is a technical reason and a legal one. The technical one is that Google's terms do not permit storing their listing content. The legal one is that a rating we stored last month is a statement about the past presented as a statement about now.
5. What we do not promise about this website
We keep this site accurate and we correct mistakes when we find them. We do not promise it is free of every error, that it will be reachable at every moment, or that a browser we have never seen will render it the way we drew it.
Nothing on this site is professional advice of any kind. It describes services we sell.
6. What is ours
The words, the design, the code, the mark, the wordmark and the demonstration sites on this site are ours.
You may read the source of anything here, including the demonstration sites, and you may learn from it. We are inviting you to. You may not copy the site wholesale, take the mark or the wordmark, or present our work as yours.
If we build a website for you, that site is yours outright. That is in your agreement and this section does not touch it.
7. If something on this site infringes your copyright
Tell us and we will look at it properly.
Send an email to hello@carverpoint.com naming the work, where on our site you say it appears, and confirming that you own it or act for the owner. We will respond, and if the complaint is good we will take the material down. We would rather sort it out in an email than by letter.
Open item. Whether Carverpoint should register a designated agent with the US Copyright Office is not settled. It costs $6 and expires every three years, and registering makes sense only alongside a real notice and takedown process and a repeat infringer policy that actually runs. See
notes.md, item 9.
8. Signing in
The client dashboard and the operator console are separate systems at app.carverpoint.com. Using them is governed by your client agreement and not by this page.
Do not try to reach parts of them that are not yours, and do not test our security without asking first. If you find something, tell us at hello@carverpoint.com and we will thank you properly.
9. Changes to these terms
We change these when the site changes, and the date at the top moves when we do. Using the site after that means the new version applies. We are not going to pretend an email was sent to everybody who ever read a web page.
10. Law and where an argument happens
These terms are governed by the law of Colorado. Any dispute about this website goes to the state or federal courts sitting in Douglas County, Colorado, and both of us agree to that.
